HotKeys available in AO

Keyboard shortcuts for moving around the map and changing what it shows.

AO has keyboard shortcuts for moving around the map and changing how it's displayed. Click the map first so it has focus: shortcuts don't work while you're typing in a box. Use lowercase letters, so check that Caps Lock is off.

V Exaggerate the terrain's height: 1.25×, 1.5×, 1.75×, 2×, 2.5×, 5×, 7×, 10×, then back to 1×. You see the effect with 3D terrain on.

NOAA nautical charts have no key. Open Layers, expand Global Layers, and choose the eye icon beside NOAA Charts under Base Imagery.

If the map is slow

Key What it does
R Change the rendering resolution. From the default 2×: 1×, 0.5×, 0.25×, 0.1×, 1.5×, then back to 2×. Lower is faster, higher is sharper.
M Change the terrain detail. Each press steps through four levels; less detail draws faster.
P Show or hide a frames-per-second counter
E Show or hide the camera height
