AO's Mission Planner lets you plan an uncrewed vessel's mission on the map, segment by segment, alongside your survey data, and export it as a mission file for the vessel.

Open the Mission Planner
- In a project's Files tab, open the ... menu and choose Open Mission Planner, then name the mission.
- To open an existing mission, choose Open in Mission Planner on its .tdm file in the Files tab.
To start from an existing plan, choose Upload mission file and pick a .tdm or .txt mission file.
Build a mission
A mission is a series of segments. For each one, choose Select task type:
- Transit: travel from one waypoint to the next.
- Loiter: hold around a point, with a turn center, radius and duration.
- Rendezvous: meet at a point for a set time.
Click the map to place waypoints. Each segment's details include its depth or altitude, speed, and the depth, speed and course control laws. Choose Save segment settings after changing a segment, and use Move waypoint to drag waypoints to new positions.
Lawnmower patterns
Choose Create lawnmower pattern to cover an area with survey lines. Set the line spacing, width, turn radius and sonar swath, and choose whether the vessel stays submerged on turns. Show Coverage Swaths shows the area the sonar will cover. To edit individual lines, choose Explode lawnmower pattern into individual segments.
Save and export
- Save mission saves it in the project, so others with access can open it.
- Lock mission protects it from accidental changes; Unlock mission to edit it again.
- Export mission downloads a .tdm mission file to load onto the vessel.
